Same Day Sick Visits
We make every effort to schedule appointments for sick children on the same day you call. Appointments are generally for acute illness. Visits are appointment based so please call in the morning if you would like a same-day sick visit.
What is a Sick Visit?
Many common illness can be managed at home but sometimes an acute illness requires a visit to the office. Illness and symptoms requiring a visit may include cold and flu symptoms, fever, sore throat, cough, ear pain, worsening rash or abdominal pain, among others.
If a parent calls Well Rooted Pediatrics for a sick visit, we will do our best to have your child seen on the same day. Depending on symptoms, testing may be necessary to determine the best care for your child. Based on the exam and testing, treatments will be recommended. Treatments may include immune support, supplements, and homeopathy or prescription medications.
- At the end of each appointment a note recommending when to return to daycare or school will be provided.
- Virtual appointments are available in-lieu of an office visit if deemed appropriate and safe.
- If a sick visit is not the best choice for your child, a referral to a local urgent care or emergency room may be indicated.
